We look forward to caring for you and helping your family feel supported, comfortable, and at home.

Welcome to the Mother Baby Care Unit

Our Mother Baby Care Unit is our postpartum unit where you and your newborn will go after delivery.

Located on the 4th Floor of the Main Hospital, our Mother Baby Care Unit consists of private mother-baby rooms designed to support rooming-in.

Keeping your baby close helps you bond, learn your baby’s cues, and feel more confident caring for them. It can also support breastfeeding and help your baby feel safe, comforted, and connected to you.

A newborn nursery area is used for newborn assessments. If your baby needs additional attention, they will stay in the nursery for continued observation.

As Hawaiʻi’s only full-service women’s and children’s hospital, Kapiʻolani brings together experienced specialists, advanced resources, and a compassionate care team focused on you and your baby. If your baby needs additional support, our neonatal specialists are here and ready to provide immediate care.
