The career fair has been really great because all of the people who have who set up their booths and are introducing their careers to us. They've been really helpful. My favorite booth. I got to experience what it was like to be a patient at a physical therapist's office. They had me stand on one feet and balance myself while putting balls in different colors. That was really fun. is exciting because we've had this collaboration with a high school for years. Um, you can go to a lot of career fairs, right? But to be at the hospital and get to walk around and see how they interact with the patients and see the facilities and what people do in real time, that's what I think is special. We didn't have this when I was going to school and this elevates it so much more. This opportunity to get a hands-on to get actually in it and see it rather than textbook. textbook can only tell you so much, but being able to talk to people and engage that makes a lot of difference. It's like night and day. I don't think I would get this anywhere else because we are close to Polyomi where we have these opportunities like what 5 minutes away and I just feel lucky that we have that. The things we're striving for with this program, it's to show them that, hey, there's IA grads in the community that are physicians, nurses, techs, all these things in the medical field to show the students that you're not limited by what other people tell you, even your expectations or other people's expectations. You can be whatever you want to be. We've got people who are like, "Wait a minute, did you go to IA? You were you were my classmate." You know, so it it really does bring it home because we grew up here. We grew up together and now here we are like helping each other, giving it back to the community.

Dozens of students from Aiea High School’s Health Sciences program spent an impactful day at Pali Momi Medical Center, learning about all the different careers that health care offers. Pali Momi has partnered with the school program in prior years, but this is the first time a career fair has been hosted at the medical center.
