Biography and Interests
Biography
Dr. Bossian has many years of military service experience, both as an active duty provider as well as a civilian. After spending 14 years as an active duty physician in the Navy, he left to start his own private practice in Rhode Island. He then returned to the Navy as a civilian provider in Rhode Island but fell in love with Hawai‘i after coming here to help his daughter find housing for college. The sunshine was calling, so Dr. Bossian and his wife made the move. He continued his work with the Navy before transferring branches to the Air Force, still working as a civilian provider.
Dr. Bossian then joined Straub in 2020 where he initially supported the Virtual Urgent Care Telehealth Services during COVID-19. As he transitioned back into his primary role as a family medicine provider, he has been impressed by the staff at Kailua Clinic and the team-based care approach.
“The key to family medicine is continuity of care and as a team, everybody plays a key role,” he states.
Dr. Bossian enjoys interacting with and helping his patients. He notes that in Japanese, doctors are sometimes called sensei, which means teacher. “It gives a broader meaning to what it is to be a doctor, as we’re all teaching and learning every day.”
