Hawaiʻi Pacific Health has helped Joshua find the career path he wanted. He moved between IT and Human Resources, trying to find his passion. That mobility within the company allowed him to find his niche as a business systems analyst.

As a business systems analyst in the IT Department, I work primarily with Epic, HPH’s electronic medical records system. I support physicians and clinics within Hawaiʻi Pacific Health’s four medical centers – Kapiʻolani, Pali Momi, Straub Benioff and Wilcox on Kauaʻi.

I started as an intern prior to receiving my computer information systems degree from Hawaiʻi Pacific University.

I fell in love with the company and its principles. I interviewed for a position in 2012 and have been with Hawaiʻi Pacific Health ever since.

My favorite part of the job is that no two days are ever the same. I never get bored, and my work is always challenging me to push myself to be better at what I do.

One day, I could be supporting a go-live clinic (meaning taking a clinic live with its new electronic medical records system) and the next day, I could be supporting current workflows to better fit the clinic’s needs.

In my spare time, I like to hang out with friends and do “outdoorsy things” like going to the beach, mountain biking and surfing.

I would recommend applying to Hawaiʻi Pacific Health because it is a great place to work and is invested in its employees and the surrounding community.

It’s a place where I get to do what I love every day.
