Urology (Urinary Health)
Service Overview
Urologists are doctors who specialize in problems with the female and male urinary tract and male reproductive system. This includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, testicles and penis. Urologists provide medical and surgical care for adults and children with urological conditions. They treat infertility, cancer, kidney stones, prostate problems, erectile dysfunction, infection, urinary incontinence (leakage of urine) and congenital conditions, among others.
Our urologists approach each patient’s care with both medical innovation and sensitivity. They perform minimally invasive procedures, including robotic surgery, whenever possible to achieve the best results while minimizing pain and recovery time.
Men are encouraged to discuss prostate cancer screening with their physician. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States, killing 2.5% of American men. Screening can find the cancer be it spreads, offering a good chance for cure. The American Urological Association and the American Cancer Society both recommend yearly screening. Because most prostate cancers grow slowly, men aged 50 to 65 benefit the most from screenings.
